where to stay: we’ve got a hotel block at the HYATT CENTRIC MAG MILE. rooms for 12.30 and 12.31 are available at discounted rates starting at $189/night with group code G-SLOA. this is a great, downtown location in case you’re interested in going to any shows, museums, or other fun holiday stuff while you’re in town! if hotels aren’t your speed, an airbnb in logan square, bucktown, wicker park, or avondale would also be convenient.

what to wear: wear whatever you’d wear to a cool new year’s eve party! it’s going to be a pretty casual affair, but one of us will definitely be wearing a wedding dress — so if you want to go full NYE sequin-sparkle-shiny glam, please do! if understated is more your speed, great by us (and how chic!). one thing to note: part of the restaurant is a winterized covered patio with a gravel floor, so maybe wear comfortable footwear you’re okay with dusting off. it will be plenty warm (they close it up with full walls), it just has a gravel floor.

the kids question: this will be a rollicking nighttime wedding in a new year’s eve party atmosphere. we’re gonna go ‘til a little after midnight! we love your kids, but we understand if you want to leave them with a sitter for this one. if not — they’re welcome to come! party time! just let us know!
